S C O U T
I was 10 weeks old when I went to my new home. We lived on 2.5 acres in Joshua Tree, California. The blistering hot desert.
I loved to lay on the tile floor all day because it was too hot outside. My mom and dad say I was born perfect because I was quick to potty train, "(oooops I peeed a little bit overr der on der tile Marm. Sorry)." I never chewed anything up but I did have a fetish for my mom's shoes until I was about 2. I would lick them soaking wet and my mom would throw a perfect pair of shoes away every time!! "But dose were good shoez marm!!"
I always like to bark and bite the vacuum when my mom is vacuuming because the vacuum is evil! My mom and dad spent a lot of time with me and trained me very well. We lived on a dirt road and I was so perfect I never had to be walked on a leash, even as a curious puppy!
In February of 2010 my dad got orders to move our family to North Carolina. My mom and dad loved us so much that they took all four of us in the car, across the country (2 times).
We spent a lot of time on the boat, at the dog park, at the beach (frisbee fetch in the ocean was my favorite).
Because I am so perfect, I got to go to the beach every time my mom went and I would sit loyally next to her chair (in der shade) while she was swimming in the ocean.
When it was my turn to go in I always fetched the frisbee and came right back. I always got nervous when little kids put their heads under the water. "Scout is der new Life Guard!!" On March 21, 2011 I became the MAN OF DER HOUSE. My dad deployed that day and it was up to me to keep my mom safe. I kept dad's side of the bed nice and warm too.
Mom would have all of her friends over, and my nanny Jena would always implode on my bed time so I would have to put my chin on her leg and move my eyes in the direction of the door so she knew it was time for her to go home. "Jena you need to leave der house now." In July, my mom got a new job and went from a part time employee to a full time employee and I missed her a lot. I accidentally tipped over a big plant and made a big mess one day because I was really bored.
My mom was not happy. I didn't know how to tell time but our clock had dings and there were a llllllooooot of dings that day. "Mom has been gone for so many dings!!!" I also learned how to jump the fence, I never ran off (only to chase der deer dat were at der fence a few times).
In August 2011, there was a hurricane. My mom was really scared. She didn't have cell phone service or power for 3 days. I was mostly hot because there was no A/C, and I was bored because I couldn't go outside during the storm. My mom stayed in North Carolina with me (when her family was in Utah) for Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She got me a really nice new bed, a kong collar and leash, and some new frisbees and rope toys.
In January 2012, my dad came home from deployment. At first I was surprised and didn't recognize him but then I remembered and I had to start sleeping on the floor again. Once dad got up for work in the mornings I climbed right into his spot again.
In May of 2012 my mom and dad found out we would be having a bald puppy. We also moved back to Utah. My mom was really sick the entire 42 hour drive. I was squished in the back with the other 2 but I loved being in the car! We lived with my grandma and grandpa until August because we had to close on our home. I loved living with grandma and grandpa. Their dog, Bronte is my best friend. We liked to bully up on other dogs at the dog park but when my mom got mad at me I would stop. I don't like when my mom gets mad.
In January 2013 my little bald puppy sister came home. I liked to always sleep by her and help my mom. I never woke my mom up in the mornings to go outside because I knew she was tired. I would just get up when she got up and wait for her to let me outside when she had time. I love Charley. I always let her climb on me and lick the crumbs off her face and shirt. I love when Charley eats at the table because she drops so much delicious food and I get to eat it all!
On October 18, 2013--- I was playing at my grandma and grandpa's house with Bronte and I disappeared. I wasn't wearing my collar because Bronte always bites it. I have a microchip and I miss my family. I am worried about my mom and I know my mom is worried about me. I want to get home to protect Charley and my mom. My dad is supposed to teach me how to duck hunt this year, and I am excited to spend Christmas and Thanksgiving with my family. My family doesn't know how I even disappeared because I have never wandered off before. My mom knows I would most likely go to a woman or a child and I would never go to a man with a hat. My mom thinks that I found a family with kids and they decided to keep me, but they don't know that I have a family that I miss. They don't know my name, they don't know that I had an ear infection before I went missing (and that I'm prone to them because my ears are so big and I make a mess with water). They don't know that I'm allergic to lamb, they don't know that my nails are brittle especially in the winter and they have to be clipped regularly or else I will catch them and have to have my toenail amputated (again). They don't know that if my allergies get bad enough I need eye drops so my eyes don't get infected. I belong home with my family and I need to find them.
