1 C. Flour
1/4 C. Salt
2 TBSP Cream of Tartar
1 TBSP vegetable/fractionated coconut oil. Fractionated coconut oil and essential oils available here
1 C. Water
4 - 1 oz. jars
Mix flour, salt, cream of tartar, oil and water in a medium sized saucepan.
While stirring continuously, cook the mixture in the pot over medium-low heat until it forms a thick dough that is no longer sticky (about 5 minutes). It will form a clump rather than sticking to sides of pot.
Remove dough and place on waxed paper to cool for about 5 minutes.
Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces
For each piece of dough add about 10 drops of food coloring (more or less depending on how bold you want your colors) knead until color is blended into the dough.
Add 8-10 drops of essential oils per pice of dough and knead for about 1 minute. If you find the scent is not strong enough, add more.
---> Keep in mind, the scent does not need to be "strong" or "overbearing" to reap the benefits. Over time you may need to add more essential oil.
Store in 1 oz air tight jars.
